Since joining Birch|REA Partners in early 2006, Marie Welles has gained valuable advisory services experience regarding numerous real estate property types, including office, retail, industrial, mixed-used and specialty properties. As an Associate at Birch|REA, Ms. Welles has conducted due diligence and market analyses on a variety of real estate property transactions, providing essential qualitative data to Birch’s assignments. She also assists the firm in office management, finance and technology functions.
Ms. Welles is currently an undergraduate student at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she studies Business with an academic focus on Finance and Real Estate. She is in the process of completing her final year, upon which Ms. Welles will graduate within the top 10 percent of her class with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
Coursework relevant to Ms. Welles’ position at Birch includes Real Estate Investment, which focuses on real estate valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow analysis. This past summer she also completed an Independent Research study on the financial feasibility of green real estate; an area in which she takes special interest.
When Ms. Welles is not attending class or at the Birch office, she can be found at Babson’s ceramics workshop, where she takes pottery classes. She is also a member of Net Impact, an international nonprofit organization network of graduate students, MBAs, and professionals seeking to unite social responsibility and the business world.
